Today we received all the parts from Wagner.
Everyone started out by deburring one entire set of the drivetrain.
Next, we lined up the inner and top plates and drilled out all those mounting holes one by one, countersinking and riveting as we made them.
Then we drilled out the holes for the back plate and attached the plate.
Some holes were missing and misaligned on the back plate.
The back gearbox mount plate was too large, so the side with the larger amount of space between the edge and the holes was cut down by 3/16", which worked perfectly. Do this for the 4 other plates.
The back left holes for mounting the back plate to the inner plate are too large, new holes need to be made to hold it. This happened because we drilled holes in the wrong place, bending the side of the robot.
In addition, some burrs were getting inbetween two plates, pushing them apart. Make sure to clamp plates together tightly when drilling holes to prevent this.
Finish assembling the drivetrain
Mount all the gearboxes, make sure that everything fits perfectly.
Cut down all the back gearbox plates.
Make sure the curved CIM hugging mount plates fit perfectly.
Windex/clean the drivetrain.
We are doing great. Aim to be done with the drivetrain by 12:00 PM on Saturday, 2 hours into the meeting.
We trust Martin with the drivetrain now.
