Notes

It may be possible to use a lead screw to adjust the position of where the spring mounts to the PVC and thus change the power. Something to look into.

Work Completed

Jay and Kavi cadded the kicker sides. We put the team name and everything on it. We decided to make to plate that goes on top just some U-Channel. On top of that, we are going to put gimli's axe. We talked about dimensions with feeder and tried to nail down as many kicker dimensions as we could. We experimented with different spring types and placements. Mr. Zeiders helped us to mount the garage door spring in a piece of PVC under the table to contain it; it had a wire going up around a pully and attached it to an arm normal to the kicker. It was able to shoot the ball an adequate distance. We needed a way to pull it back so we positioned 2 pistons to pull it back (one was not enough). They had sufficient force to pull the arm back all the way but not enough speed to launch. We will still need a release mechanism.

Challenges

the release mechanism has not been made at all. CAD is slow going

Work for Next Meeting

Make detailed plans for the release mechanism and figure out how we will put the spring in a more manageable position. Continue to CAD and figure out the materials and design for the supports. Basically tackle as much of the challenges in the weekly recap as possible.

On Schedule?

we are behind but the significant progress was made today. Getting machined parts will be the limiting factor we believe.
