Work Completed

We worked on the BOM and at first found a good roller assembly to use. Then Alex found a single roller to put into the design at a lower cost. we finally decided on a 2 sided slider, located on the BOM, that goes between 2 beams of 80/20.

We attempted to CAD the clamp design but had to stop for a meeting with the other subteams where many changes were made. We refined the slider design (there are a bunch of drawings that are in notebooks in the normal drawer). Then we started to make a scale drawing and scraped the roller idea instead choosing to use a 2 sided slider for 80/20. The  area for designing the clamp has been changed to 14 in by 4.25 in. The new design is still in progress and no longer to scale because of the size change, it is on graph paper and in the drawer.

Challenges

New demensions being decided in the middle of CADing made it hard to stick with our original design.

Costs being too high to fit our given budget with the original parts we had decided on.

We have encountered a problem with the size of the drive train off the ground being too high to accomodate picking up a tote on the ground.

Work for Next Meeting

finish working on the drawing of the clamp design and iron out the details of both the mechanism and what we are going to make it out of. Keep working on the BOM and try to decrease our spending even more.

Tomorrow, there is a captains only meeting that is designed to solve all problems and come up with a final, no longer in flux robot design.

On Schedule?
