Work Completed

We finished the 7 gearboxes for which we have functional bearings. Many of them did not turn well, so we gave them some motor time, hooking them up to cims and running them. We also tested out rivet hole sizes with countersink and no countersink. We decided that countersinking was necessary and worthwhile and that the #7 drill bit would be best for our holes. We made a plan for what we would be doing on tuesday once the first load of machined parts arrives (we hope). Lyle worked with neil, jack, and mike on creating a tentative schedule for the restof the build season, and helped make some decisions on where the gearboxes and pulleys will go. We updated the weight calculations.

Challenges

We learned that the gearboxes do backdrive. This is a problem for lifter, but since drivetrain has been building gearboxes, we tried to help out. We concluded that, to Sigablob, Joaquin, Jack and Neil's surprise, the RAWboxes do backdrive and in fact are not supposed to have much anti-backdrive functionality. Lifter will have to use some kind of software braking system. to prevent the clamps from sliding down.

Work for Next Meeting

We will not have anything to do until parts come in. Lyle will probably not attend next meeting.

On Schedule?

Well The old schedule is a bit outdated and we are on track with thte new schedule.
