Today, in full panic mode, we adjusted the width between the towers, adding 1/4 inch to both sides of the robot. This will let us (hopefully) flip a container that is on its side, without fear that it will collide with the pillar side-plates and reduce our robot to a mere vegetable covered in LEDs. We spent some time tested the robot as a whole, which served solely as a wakeup call for how pewp or lifting system is. The jank is real. The sliders and pulleys are squeakier than mice, and the clamps move unevenly. 2 days 'till bag-day, and there is still much work to do.
Getting the thing to work... The lifter still needs work with being even on both sides, and just liftin in general. The robot also wobbles and sways a ridiculous amount, something sure to turn all of our stomachs while helplessly watching at competition.
Make things run evenly. Hell, just make things run. As long as the tower can lift things consistently, we'll be fine. Flipper is a secondary attachment that needs to be decided on.
Lol
Are we ever, at this stage in the build-season?
(so no, not quite, but we're working on it)
