Notes

should switch to material other than wood esp. if we're gonna be dropping it

Work Completed

  • flipped hinge that attaches the ramp to table to simutlate the ramp folding into the robot
  • there are two main ideas for how to deploy ramp:
    1. have piston push ramp out  and let gravity do the work and have two pistons on either side that prevent it from falling out during comp.
    2. have a piston push out and have ramp fall certain distance then be caught by motor part of the way down and lower it

Challenges

Problems with deployment method:

1. damage to competetition floor--is cushioning enough? where should the piston push?

2. time and speed of motors?

General problems:

What is the angle of the ramp in the robot?

Work for Next Meeting

  • Design/test both mechanisms
    • find/get parts if needed
  • start thinking about materials for ramp in general
    • pistons, motors, gearboxes, etc.
  • drop impact
    • will we have cushioning? or will motor help with that?
