Work Completed

We added supports to the prototype to add more structural integrity, preventing breakage. We then did a series of drop tests to see if it helped.

Challenges

  • the aluminum supports hit the ground when the ramp falls, causing the ramp to bounce
  • the wheel-piston assembly would take most of the stress from the fall

Work for Next Meeting

  • Design/test both mechanisms
    • find/get parts if needed 
  • start thinking about materials for ramp in general
    • pistons, motors, gearboxes, etc.
  • drop impact
    • will we have cushioning? or will motor help with that?
