Work Completed
We added supports to the prototype to add more structural integrity, preventing breakage. We then did a series of drop tests to see if it helped.
Challenges
- the aluminum supports hit the ground when the ramp falls, causing the ramp to bounce
- the wheel-piston assembly would take most of the stress from the fall
Work for Next Meeting
- Design/test both mechanisms
- find/get parts if needed
- start thinking about materials for ramp in general
- pistons, motors, gearboxes, etc.
- drop impact
- will we have cushioning? or will motor help with that?
