Work Completed
- part 0114 got trimmed down to 18.5"
- intake back channel trimmed to 18" & deburred
- elevator second stage and carriage are put together minus the inside rollers and intake plates. Will add those tomorrow when the spacers arrive and the intake rotation plates are routed.
- carriage doesn't slide in the second stage super nicely but it could be the missing spacers
- elevator first stage side support are tapped and drilled, will be mounted
- first stage verticals are tilted forward unevenly. could be fixed after mounting the side supports and the crossbar at the top, but dunno..
- apparently the belly pan/frame was assembled a little off? no one seems to know details
- finished mounting perforated aluminum on one ramp using rivets. Will order washers for comp bot ramp. out of material, need to route/order more.
- set up a makeshift testing hinge for ramp with round tube on bottom rung of ladder. Probably need something a little stronger.
Challenges
- people don't read notes, so they missed the part where it says to "make extra sure the inside distance is correct on both top and bottom of stage"
- waiting for parts to arrive
Work for Next Meeting
- make practice bot functional ASAP!
- elevator
- supports from crossbar near bottom need to be attached
- assemble inside rollers when spacers arrive or make some
- change the order of spacers/bearings on the inside sliders
- When attaching top to middle stage, make extra sure the inside diameter is correct on both top and bottom of stage, and carriage moves smoothly, no brackets rubbing, etc.
- when fully assembled, test it electrically
- intake
- One back channel piece has been routed, should be on router table. Cut this to 18" length, Bob should have marked the side to cut.
- Use above piece to mount one side of feeder and test it. This prob can't happen until Tues night, since we're waiting in mcmaster parts for intake.
- If the one side works, Bob will get second back channel routed
- need lexan plates routed for feeder arms
- ramp
- dampener on bottom of frame
- figure out how to actuate ramp pistons (more pistons? passive? CAM style drop?)
- attach pistons to frame, somehow
- finish attaching perforated alum
- intake
- intake hinge plates
- cut arm lexan plates
- mount motors (10:1 arriving soon hopefully? otherwise the 5:1s might be ok)
- implement actuation
- electrical
- test robot
- controls iteration
- test auto
- drivetrain
- if wheels are wobbly / shafts are too long, add a spacer on the outside and put the bolt over
- bumpers
- comprehensive weight loss plan --> google spreadsheet
- miscellaneous
- New pit wall for banner, sponsor stuff
- Robot cart
- fix handle
- add second level again?
- a peg board for tools would be nice
- Make awards to give other teams?
- Make buttons?
- get $$$
- make battery cart?
