  • First, we talked with Chris and he explained to us the math behind the conclusion that we would only need 1 775pro, running at 14000 and geared at 5:1, per 2 screws(picture of the sheet is labeled "Ball Screw Math.jpg" on Drive) and that the theoretical speed of this would be 9.84 inches per second. We will, however, need to regulate the speed to be slower, as we need to be able to control it.
  • Also, we updated our Design parameters and options docs to be better organized and more complete.
  • we started on a component list
  • The electrical spreadsheet has a place for us to list our electrical components needed
  • we decided to only prototype one stilt, so we can test how much load it can really bear, as well as the actual speed we can achieve

Challenges

  • we had some difficulty trying to put everything together in space, but in the end we got it done and sketched (
    "Ball Screw Sketch.jpg" on Drive)
  • the design has two chains perpendicular to each other, so these would need to be tested to make sure they work well

Work for Next Meeting

continue trying to find other viable designs for climbing to the 3rd level

continue working on components list

if possible, start cad

On Schedule?

As said before, we are on track for this first prototype, but finding other ideas to prototype is proving very difficult. I'm not sure if we'll have two prototypes to show in the end
