Work Completed

We finished the second spinoff prototype(scissors) that was based off of the knowledge we gained from the first prototype(bolts)

Discussing all the issues and factors with the two prototypes a grappling hook/tin can/umbrella design may fit the all the criteria that might affect lining up correctly

Solo mentioned the two piston design which will allow us to reach out of the frame perimeter easily to reach the rocket and the ship

We discussed all the lining up problems that may occur horizontal, vertical, and angular and decided that we should rule out vertical problems and explore the effects of angular problems

We should attach a protoype to atlas-z and get some data about lining up the hatch

In addition to address horizontal problems we are thinking of using something simliar to the climber's linear actuators to move side to side

Challenges

all the dimensional issues(angular) and trying to figure out how to deal with protrusion out of the frame perimeter

Work for Next Meeting

Jobs for Prototype #1

Need to attach on Atla-Z

Might want to 3D print the parts instead of using the bolts and add some more reinforcement/cushion to the bolts

We should get some data if there is an angular problem with the drivetrain and if so how much

Other Tasks

start building the grapping hook prototype

Complete adding designs to the list of designs, including all designs mentioned or talked about on Slack or ones we may have not considered fully yet. After doing so, add pros and cons for each, a sketch, and rank the designs once all are on the list.

Build the practice hatch if it is routed

Record and discuss pros and cons and modify prototype based on testing data (We have pros & cons but now we need to record data for tests for multiple prototypes that we have considered to be our best designs).

If done with the first prototype, sort and rank the remaining designs, and create prototypes for the best.

Test how much wiggle room we have with the velcro and if we will need a sideways elevator mechanism to align better (Which is most likely at this point).

Create a mechanism that is able to set the hatch panel from an angle (individually controlled pistons behind horizontal elevator?)

On Schedule?

yes
