Work Completed

Holes that reduce weight were added to the back extrusion of the drivetrain. These holes were modeled off the back extrusion of the 2017-2018 robot on GrabCad. The back extrusion was also assembed to two side extrusions. Initial CAD of the climber was also started. This mostly included locating the CAD for each part of the mechanism online to be used in the assembly.

Challenges

When the drivetrain assembly was worked on outside of the shop, a mirror tool was used and alignment of the wheel to the axle on one of the side extrusions was off. We could not figure out what was wrong with it and could not find what mates were causing the problem. We were not able to get a lot of work done because of this. By tomorrow, the person working on this feature will have fixed the issue.

Work for Next Meeting

Next meeting, we should continue assembly of the drivetrain. The gearbox should be finished and attached to the frame. The front of the frame should also be assembled, completing the drivetrain.

On Schedule?

Yes, we should be on schedule to finish the drivetrain by the end of the meeting tomorrow. We should have a complete frame and gearboxes, paired with geometry proving that the drivetrain design is effective.
