Work Completed

Hatch Mechanism
• We decided to pursue a petal/beak prototype, so we began work on that. We will use a piston that will push 3 hooks up, which are each connected to a small rectangular pieces, which will push outwards to prevent the hatch panel from falling off.

Horizontal Alignment
• We discussed possible designs that we are currently considering, and created sketches for them (in hatch folder on drive)

Challenges

• We are working to make the horizontal positioning fast, but precise enough that driver alignment will not be an issue.

Work for Next Meeting

Jobs for Prototype #1 (tabled at the moment, need to move on to other prototypes)

Have better test parameters

Might want to 3D print the parts instead of using the bolts and add some more reinforcement/cushion to the bolts

We should get some data if there is an angular problem with the drivetrain and if so how much

Other Tasks
Start designing sideways movement mechanism, figure out how we want to prototype.

Go through all designs and make sure every single one is on the drive

Build the practice hatch if it is routed

Record and discuss pros and cons and modify prototype based on testing data (We have pros & cons but now we need to record data for tests for multiple prototypes that we have considered to be our best designs).

If done with the first prototype, sort and rank the remaining designs, and create prototypes for the best.

Create a mechanism that is able to set the hatch panel from an angle (individually controlled pistons behind horizontal elevator?)

Begin thinking about which prototype we want to begin building/further testing.
