Pit workbench now has the bottom, middle, and top shelves! It can now fit 6 totes :)
Thanks Charlie and Caden for helping!!!
Work on climber
One button to do an entire climb now works! Just don't let go of the button in the middle :) --> See the video on slack, its pretty
Mounted and wired a new VEX bumper switch because the old one just wasn't working consistently for some unknown reason
Reese and Adam replaced the limit switch bracket thing that broke
Added code to use the encoder to stop the climb rather than the limit switch with slowing down but Adam tested it once and the arm stopped halfway through the climb --> will look into this tomorrow maybe?
Saturday the interp method in climber code was put back in and fixed (reversed the value lists)
Some beautiful posters were made!!!
Zhaohan got Frisbee bot completely good to go for defense tomorrow against our drivers!
Challenges
Wires
Stupid VEX Bumper Switches
Limit switch piece broke so climber jammed again --> fix was to have someone using a drill on the top and someone pulling the chain on the bottom
Work for Next Meeting
Pit workbench and layout:
Add a 2x4 on the back of the workbench to prevent totes from falling out the back
Add the 4 caster wheels on the bottom of the work bench
Sand down the edges to prevent splinters
Figure out where to mount the vise and horizontal band saw
Add light on top of the workbench
Finish the moutning for the caterpillar & blue banners in the back and the ctrl-z banner in the front
Cut and mount the whiteboards to the battery cart and underneath the caterpillar banner below the lights on the workbench
Cut the plywood that is going to be a shelf in the battery cart
Cut the plywood that will extend the surface of the red tool chest in the pit
Finish up the safety kit stuff we need for comp
Finish up the infographic of the robot --> talk to malia about this
Finish editing the outreach one-sheet --> talk to tori about this
Update the business plan to fix typos --> talk to david about this
Get copies made of the robot infographic and outreach one-sheet once they are done :)
Make buttons!!!
Print spares of whatever we need spares of
Print keychains to give away!
Install spare string pot using new printed mount
Code
Speed up the climb
Figure out why encoders to stop isn't working
Make the climb a toggle so nothing bad happens if the button is let go of...
Tune the pid used on the cargo arm when climbing, gotta up the P probably
Add safety precaution if some part isn't working... use the accelerometer and do blah if there is greater than a 10 degree tilt?
If we have time when drivers aren't there to practice, we can also look at using the front facing limelight for continous pid on the hatch mechanism
Also continous pid on the cargo arm, so when marlow moves cargo arm "manually" it's really just updating the pid setpoint
On Schedule?
I guess so, but there's lots to do in the coming week!
