Work Completed

  • Issues with the shooter's geometry were established and are being resolved.
  • The shooter's geometry was redone addressing earlier established issues.
  • Moved wheel and inner parts of the hood to new locations to allow for more compression on the ball (3/4" instead of 1/8")
  • Resolved the issue of removing too much material from the pulley (This was the issue that limited which wheels we could use).

Challenges

  • CAM file for the pulley was close but had a few flaws
    • Missing pocket under the shooter's wheel
    • The thinned part was 1/16" instead of 1/8"
  • SolidWorks is very picky about the order in which you do things

Work for Next Meeting

  • Determine which wheels to test and put them on the BOM along with other needed parts that aren't already in the shop!
  • Finish resolving problems with the shooter being
    • Location of the flywheel
    • Location of the Gearbox (which depends on belt length)
  • CAD outer parts of the hood
  • CAD adjustable portion of the hood
  • CAD steering motor location
