Work Completed

  • Finished the frame for the  bottom layer of the ball storage prototype
  • Built the frame for the top layer of the ball sttorage prototype
  • Welded poly bealts into loops so that they are ready to put ont the storage
  • Chris and Jonathan looked at the geometry of the intake with a 2D sketch on Solidworks. It is designed with around 3/4 inch of compression.

Challenges

We forgot to add a way to attatch a motor to the storage so we have to wait before attatching the polybelts.

Work for Next Meeting

  • Talk to James and continue working on the geometry of the encoder and gate mechanism that feeds balls into the flywheel of the turret, maybe add to the 2D side view schematic that he already has up or make another one
  • Need to finalize geometry and spacing of the bars that allows the ball to be compressed just enough that it can fit through the gaps between the bars and bumper and fed into the mechanism that brings it towards the turret. We have good ideas, but we want to make sure that they work before starting on actual CAD.
  • Need to figure out a good/reasonable amount of compression for the ball
  • Now that prototype is done, can test for these. Gate/storage/feed system needs attention.
  • Adjust the ball storage prototype so we can attatch a motor
  • Attatch the polybelts to the frames.
