Work Completed

Work completed

  • Reduced shooter speed (from 99 ft/sec to 89 ft/sec)
  • Reworked hood for .75" of compression
  • Moved flywheel and gearbox locations (< .125") to match belt lengths
  • Changed flywheel shaft to be an 8mm keyed shaft in order to put a double 12T pulley onto the shaft.

Things for the future

  • Will probably use a two-position hood with a piston instead of a continuously adjustable hood

Challenges

Bullet point 4 was a step backward, the flywheel shaft will be changed to .500" hex and the 12T double pulley will be changed to an 18T 15mm pulley.

Work for Next Meeting

  • Determine which wheels to test and put them on the BOM along with other needed parts that aren't already in the shop!
  • Finish resolving problems with the shooter being
    • Location of the flywheel
    • Location of the Gearbox (which depends on belt length)
      • Change outer plate mounting (because of second stage pulley changing from 30T to 36T)
  • CAD in parts that will allow the hood's angle and compression to be manually adjusted.
  • CAD steering motor location
  • Add more mounting points for the hood and wheel mount to deal with stress from when the ball enters the shooter.
